Moultrie Observer, February 25,1924
Mrs. Morris, aged 75,the mother of Claude and Wash Morris,Colquitt County
farmers, died suddenly Saturday about noon while she was watching her sons and
other men tried to put the fire that was destroying the residence of T.T.
Taylor. Prior to being stricken Mrs. Morris was apparently in good health.
When the Taylor residence caught on fire she got in the automobile with her
sons and went to the scene. On arriving there she stood up for a few minutes
and then took a seat on a log which was near the blazing home. Suddenly some
of the onlookers saw the head of the aged woman droop over.

By the time anyone had reached her side, her pulse had ceased to flutter. She
had died apparently without a struggle. Mrs. Morris had not given voice to
any complaint as to her condition, but when she suddenly sought a place to rest
the eyes of someone present followed her. When her head sank over help rushed
to her side, but the end came so quickly nothing could be done for her.

Additional Comments:
Mrs. Morris is buried beside her husband John W. Morris at Liberty Hill
Cemetery in Mitchell County near the Colquitt County line.
Mrs. Morris was also the mother of Edgar Earnest Morris and Billy Scott Morris.
