Jesup--Edward A. Hobbs, 74, of Jesup died Aug. 23, 2007, after an extended 
illness.  
     The Colquitt County native had lived in Wayne County the past 18 years 
and was a retired Roadway truck driver.  He attended Little Creek Baptist 
Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.  His parents, Laverne and Estus 
Hobbs; a brother and sister-in-law, M.D. and Shirley Hobbs; and a brother-in-
law, Lamar Oliver, predeceased him.
     Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Knight Hobbs of Jesup, a 
daughter and son-in-law; Brenda and Steve Jones of Lakeland, Tenn.; two sons, 
Charles and Mary Hobbs of Kansas City, Mo. and C.E. "Doc" Hobbs of Jesup; a 
brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Faye Hobbs of Dade City, Fla.; a sister, 
Margaret Oliver of Dade City, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 
and several nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from Rinehart and Sons 
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Manning and Rev. Troy Adams 
officiating.  Interment will be in the Knight Family Cemetery on E.C. Knight 
Road.
     Active pallbearers will be David Oliver, Jeremy Knight, Jeffery Chastain, 
Donnie Keith, Butch Hobbs and Kevin Leonard.  Hononary pallbearers will be 
Little Creek Baptist Church members.
     Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior 
to chapel services.
     Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
