Roy Evans - passed away 5/1/1963
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church near here 
for Roy Evans, 15, who was found dead of a gunshot wound near his home late Wednesday.  
The Rev. J.O. Leath and the Rev. Roy Strickland officiated and internment was in the 
church cemetery.
Authorities said the youth was found on the dam of a small pond, a .22 caliber pistol by 
his side.  A coroner's inquest was scheduled.
Evans was born March 24, 1948 in Colquitt County, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Evans.  
He was in the ninth grade at Moultrie Junior High School.
Survivors include his parents, a brother, Mike Evans, and two sisters, Gail and Christine Evans, 
all of Rt. 5, Moultrie; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D.M. Adams, Valdosta, and Mrs. T.L. Evans, 
Rt. 5. Moultrie, and several aunts and uncles including Mrs. M.C. Lawton, Eldon Evans, Bennie Evans 
and Vernon Evans, all of Albany.
