                         Mrs. Bessie B. Calhoun
 NEWBERRY----Mrs. Bessie B. Calhoun died Friday at her home after an extended 
illness. She was 90.
 A native of Alabama, she had come here from Jacksonville ten years ago. She 
was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.
 She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Edwin Caldwell and Mrs. H. R. 
Huggins, both of Newberry, Mrs. Don Hough, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Ed 
Daniel, Valdosta, Ga.; her son, Virgle Calhoun, Newberry, and five great 
grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
Bessie was born 5 Oct 1886 to Augustus V. Allums Sr. and Katherine White 
Allums. Her husband was James Riley Calhoun who is also buried in Newberry 
Cemetery in Alachua County, Florida along with her.
