Atkinson County Citizen - November 1, 2012
Mr. John Davis, age 85, of Millwood, GA passed suddenly Saturday morning, 
October 27, 2012, at his home.
 A native of Coffee County, Mr. Davis was born April 17, 1927, son of Charlie 
Martin and Millie Whitney Davis. He was a retired farmer and welder and had made 
his home in Ware County for most of his life. In his later years he enjoyed 
growing a garden and took great pride in the bountiful harvest of vegetables and 
potatoes from his hard work which he enjoyed sharing with his children, 
grandchildren and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Wright 
Davis, a granddaughter, Charley Danielle Davis, a son-in-law, Frank Cribb and 2 
sisters Lovenia Musgrove and Lila Spivey.
 Survivors include, 2 sons, Charlie Davis and wife Marilyn of Millwood, GA and 
Johnny Davis and wife Peggy of Millwood, GA; 5 daughters, Lounelle Cribb of 
Folkston, GA, Janice Bennett and husband Roger of Millwood, GA, Joyce Selp and 
husband, Larry of Axson, GA, Shelia Fender and husband, Jack of Pearson, GA and 
Audrey Browning and husband Randy of Pearson, GA; eighteen grandchildren, 47 
great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews 
also survive.
 Funeral services for Mr. Davis were held Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Fales 
Pentecostal Church at 3 p.m. with Rev. Edgar Musgrove, Rev. Clayton Davis and 
Rev. Marty Lawson officiating. Special musical selections included “Where the 
Roses Never Fade” and “I’ll Meet You in the Morning” rendered by the Musgrove 
Family with Mary Weaver accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the prelude 
and postlude were provided by Mary Weaver, pianist.
 The interment followed in Jowers Cemetery with special musical selection. 
“Sounds Like Home to Me” rendered acappella by the Musgrove Family.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Marty Davis, Kyle Cribb, Kevin Bennett, Wade 
Bennett, Jonathan Nugent, Johnny Davis, Mark Vining, Sammy Cannon.
 Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
