Atkinson County Citizen - December 6, 2007
 Mrs. Dodgerie Tanner Davis, age 73, of Patterson, GA passed away Wednesday 
evening November 28, 2007, at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross, GA 
following a brief illness.
 A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Davis was born October 30, 1934, daughter of 
William L. (Dodger) and Opal Williams Tanner. She had made her home in 
Patterson, GA for the past 52 years. Mrs. Davis was a former school teacher and 
a homemaker. She was a member of Kirkland United Methodist Church and attended 
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Patterson, GA.
 Survivors include her husband, Harley (Buck) Davis of Patterson, GA; two 
daughters, Amy Pope and husband Jonathan of Blackshear, GA and Millicent B. 
Davis of Patterson, GA; grandson, Brandon Davis of Patterson, GA; sisters, 
Patsy Carter of Willacoochee, GA and Maxine Hamilton and husband Jack of 
Nashville, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 
2007, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, in Patterson, GA with Rev. I.B. Boyette, 
Rev. Rodney Carter, Rev. Darryl Walker, Rev. Keith Brown officiating. Special 
musical selections included, "In the Garden" and "Go Rest High on that 
Mountain" rendered by soloist, Rev. Keith Brown, accompanied by tape. Graveside 
services and interment for Mrs. Davis were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at 
Sweetwater Cemetery in Pearson, GA.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Ricky Carter, Roy Deen, Matt Deal, Wesley 
Brown, Chad Brown, Kevin Fussell.
 Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Brown, Curtis Sinclair, Gene 
Hardee, Johnny Clark, David Thorton, James Sapp.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
