 Mrs. Linda Fran Corbitt, age 54 of Pearson, GA passed away Monday, May 26, 
2008 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA following a brief illness.
 A native of Coffee County, Mrs. Corbitt was born February 24, 1954, daughter 
of Candacy Mizell Corbitt Prescott and the late J.N. Corbitt, Sr. A 1972 
graduate of Atkinson County High School and 1974 graduate from South Georgia 
College as an RN, Mrs. Corbitt worked many years at the Clinch Co. Health 
Department was well as the Valdosta Dialysis Clinic before poor health forced 
her retirement. She was a member of Springhead United Methodist Church and was 
preceded in death by her father, J.N. Corbitt, Sr.
 Survivors include, mother, Candacy Corbitt Prescott and stepfather, Glen 
Prescott of Pearson, GA; brother, John Corbitt of Pearson, GA; sister, Elaine 
Corbitt Sirmans and husband, Stacy of Tallahassee, FL; nephew, Stace Sirmans 
and wife Kimberly Berkeley Sirmans; niece, Candace Sirmans; several aunts, 
uncles and cousins also survive.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Corbitt were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 
at Springhead United Methodist Church near Willacoochee, GA with Rev. Ray 
Bittner and Rev. Emory Corbitt officiating. The eulogy was given by her brother 
in law, Stacy Sirmans. Special musical selections included, "The Anchor Holds" 
rendered by Angela Jones and Scarlet Taylor, with tape accompaniment 
and "Amazing Grace' rendered by the congregation with Michael Johnson 
accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was rendered 
by Michael Johnson, pianist. The interment followed in Mud Creek Cemetery.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Stace Sirmans, Berkeley Sirmans, Fred 
Douglas, Jr., Bing Hamilton, Chad Jones, Harry Peagler.
 Honorary pallbearers were James Corbitt, Jimmy Corbitt, Stanley Mizell, Paul 
Middleton, Hal Peagler, Steve Sirmans, Ronald McClellan.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
