Atkinson County Citizen - October 16, 2008
 Mr. Clyde Corbitt age 80 of Pearson, GA passed away Saturday evening, October 
4, 2008, at his home following an extended illness.
 A native of Clinch County, Mr. Corbitt was born October 6, 1927 son of Joe T. 
and Stella Sanders Corbitt. He lived in Florida for many years before moving 
back to Pearson in 1970. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. Mr. Corbitt 
was a member of Red Bluff Primitive Baptist Church where he had served as a 
Deacon for many years. He served in the U.S. Army, Army Air Corps, and the U.S. 
Navy and was a veteran of WWII. Mr. Corbitt was preceded in death by one son, 
Bruce Allen Corbitt.
 Survivors include, wife, Cleo Lupo Corbitt of Pearson, GA; brothers, Benny Joe 
Corbitt and wife Ethell of Jacksonville, FL and Gene Corbitt and wife Beverly 
of Doyline, LA; sisters, Betty Joyce Sloan of Ft. Pierce, FL and Bertie Smith 
of Brandon, FL.
 Several nieces and nephews also survive.
 Graveside funeral services and interment for Mr. Corbitt were held at 11 a.m. 
Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Red Bluff Cemetery with Elder Earl Vann and Rev. 
Carlie Lastinger officiating. Special musical selections included "Shepherd of 
my Valley" and "If We Never Meet Again" rendered by The Setters Family 
accompanied by Mr. Charles Setters on guitar.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Bobby Joe Guess, Jody Guess, James Corbitt, 
Husky Clement, Tom Brown, Tony Corbitt.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
