The Atkinson County Citizen - Jan. 2006
Mr. Alton Clement, age 76, of Tifton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, at his 
home following an extended illness.
Mr. Clement was born on Nov. 14, 1929 in Atkinson County, the son of the late 
Cleon and the late Elizann Giddens Clement. He had made his home in Tifton for 
the past 29 years and was a retired over the road truck driver and a member of 
Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Alvita T. Clement of Tifton; one son, Ronnie 
Clement of Vero Beach, Fla.; one grandson, Christopher Clement of Lake Alfred, 
Fla.; one sister, Shelby Jean McKinnon and husband E. G. of Douglas; three 
brothers, Horace Clement and wife Jan of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Benny Clement and 
wife Cretia of Douglas and Edward Lee Clement and wife Daphne of Ft. Pierce, 
Fla. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Clement were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at 
Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Sim Youngblood officiating. 
Special musical selections included “Peace In The Valley” and “Some
Call It 
Heaven” rendered by soloist Anna Sue Wiggins with taped accompaniment. Soft 
music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Margaret Williams, pianist. 
Interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson was in charge of the arrangements
