Atkinson County Citizen - 
 A funeral service was held for Mr. Eugene B. Carmichael, Jr., 67, 2 p.m. 
Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the Manor United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark 
Mooneyhan and Rev. Allen Carmichael officiating. The burial was in the New 
Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery. 
 Active pallbearers were Andy Carmichael, Danny Carmichael, Carey Carmichael, 
Davey Surrency, Darryl Smith, Harry Lee James.
 Honorary pallbearers were his classmates of 1957, men of the Manor United 
Methodist Church, Bobby McClaine, Nolan McClaine, Larry Davis, Billy Lee, 
Johnny Holland. Masonic rites were conducted at the gravesite by the CASSIA 
Masonic Lodge of Homerville.
 He died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at his residence in Manor after a brief 
illness. He was native and life long resident of Ware County. He was the son of 
the late E.B. Carmichael, Sr. and Iva Lee James Carmichael and was preceded in 
death by a son, Eugene "Brad" Carmichael, III.
 He retired in 2000 as an insurance salesman with American General Life 
Insurance Company after thirty years of service. He owned and operated 
Carmichael's C.B. Radio Service and served on the Ware County Board of 
Education 1973 and 1984. He was a member of the Manor United Methodist Church 
and the CASSIA 224 Masonic Lodge of Homerville. He was a graduate of the Middle 
Georgia College in Cochran.
 Survivors include his wife, Eleanor James Carmichael of Manor; three 
daughters, Karen Brewster (Bill) of Waycross, Kathy Rowell (Robbie) and Wendy  
(David) both of Manor; three brothers, James A. Carmichael (Jamie), Carey 
Carmichael (Janice), Joseph Carmichael (Shirel) all of Manor; a special friend, 
Charles Mills (Mary Alice) of Manor; numerous nieces and nephews.
 Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
