 Myrtice Bennett, 84, of Pearson, GA, died unexpectedly late Friday evening, 
December 21st, due to natural causes, near Brunswick where she resided with her 
granddaughter and caregiver Sue Gray.

 Ms. Bennett lived most of her life in Pearson. She was born in Axson to 
parents, Myrtle and Ellis Bennett, who preceded her in death.

 Ms. Bennett is survived by her sister, Jo Anne Douglas of Waycross, her four 
children, Faye Strickland of Brunswick, Jerry Cheshire of Atkinson Community, 
Glenn Cheshire of Jacksonville, FL, and Joe Anthony “Tony” Cheshire of Waycross, 
as well as 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and 
nephews.
 
 Ms. Bennett was a homemaker and centered her life on her family. Her passions 
were reading and the soap operas.

 The viewing was held Wednesday, December 26 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Relihan 
Funeral Home.

 The funeral service was held Thursday, December 27 at 11 a.m. at The Church of 
Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints in Pearson, GA with Bishop Steve Sirmans and 
Bro. Virgil Bennett officiating. Special musical selections included, “Nearer My 
God to Thee” and “God be with You Till we Meet Again” rendered by the 
congregation with Ellen Hardee accompanying at the piano and Tonya Cecil as 
chorister. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Ellen Hardee, 
pianist.

 The interment followed at Axson Cemetery in Axson, GA, on Fiddler’s Green Road 
with dedication of the grave given by Bishop Steve Sirmans.

 Serving as active pallbearers were Jep Strickland, Jordon Strickland, Erza 
Strickland, Daniel Walker, Brinson Gray, Jonathan Walker.

 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
