Atkinson County Citizen - November 3, 2009
 Mrs. Mary Frances Bennett age 68 of Homerville, GA passed away Tuesday, No
November 3, 2009 at her residence following an extended illness.
 A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Bennett was born December 20, 1940 daughter o
of Henry and Lunette Mizell Crosby. She had made her home in the Axson and M
Millwood area for many years before moving to Homerville in July. She had w
worked for many years as a seamstress and nurse's aide before becoming d
disabled. Her church membership was at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day S
Saints in Pearson, GA. She was preceded in death by a daughter Dawn Beasley and a
a son Jared Bennett.
 Survivors include husband Folks Jr. Bennett of Homerville, GA; 3 daughters, 
Henrietta Markette and husband Hilton of Waycross, GA, Simeon Adams and husband 
Tommy of Douglas, GA, April Borland and husband Brad of Douglas, GA; son Elbert 
Beasley and wife Tammy of Douglas, GA; 2 step-daughters, Gloria Jean Boswell 
and husband Eric of Montgomery, AL, Delores Petite and husband Angelo of 
Birmingham, AL; brother, John Henry "Buddy" Crosby and wife Lucille of Axson, 
GA; sister Juanita Vickers and husband Bud of Westminster, SC; half sister 
Lillian Carter of Douglas, GA; 11 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 6
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Bennett were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009
at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson, GA with Bishop Jamie
James conducting. Speakers were Elder Shad Sirmans and Elder Kevin Merrell. Bishop
Steve Sirmans and Bishop Lamar Park gave testimonies and the Eulogy was given by
son
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Bennett were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 
2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson, GA with 
Bishop Jamie James conducting. Speakers were Elder Shad Sirmans and Elder Kevin 
Merrell. Bishop Steve Sirmans and Bishop Lamar Park gave testimonies and the 
Eulogy was given by son-in-law Hilton Markette. Special musical 
selections "Abide With Me" " Tis Eventide" and "I Believe In Christ" were 
rendered by the attending congregation with Tonya Cecil accompanying at the 
piano. "Jesus, Lover of my Soul" was rendered by Jeffery McGowan and Lorraine 
White with Ellen Hardee accompanying at the piano. Tonya Cecil pianist provided so
soft music for the prelude and postlude.
 The interment followed in Utah Cemetery with the dedication of the grave given b
by Bishop Jamie James.
 Serving as active pallbearers were grandsons Shawn Adams, Nathan Marshall, Sam 
Boswell, Parker Borland, Ryan Beasley, Emory Markette.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
