 Mrs. Fannie Bennett Benefield, age 86 of Pearson, GA passed away Tuesday, A
August 30, 2011 at her home following an extended illness.
  A native of Atkinson County, GA, Mrs. Benefield was born on May 13, 1925, 
daughter of John and Wealthy Browning Bennett. She was a homemaker and attended
Ozias
Ozias Freewill Baptist Church in Pearson, GA. Mrs. Benefield was preceded in d
death by her husband, Eddie Benefield, Sr., 2 children, Fannie Mae Bagley and W
William Benefield, 3 stepchildren, Louise Duncan, Dutch Benefield and Eddie B
Benefield, Jr.
 Survivors include four sons, J.E. Benefield of Pearson, GA, Eddie Benefield of 
Pearson, GA., David Benefield and wife Terry of Douglas, GA, and Josh Benefield 
and wife Rachel of Charlotte, NC; three daughters, Mary Bennett and husband 
William of Pearson, GA, Margaret Douglas of Willacoochee, GA and Shirley Lott 
of Pearson, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren,
great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Benefield were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1,
2011 at Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Leo Bagley and Rev. Sim
Youngblood officiating. Special music selections included 
grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Youngblood officiating. Special music selections included “I’ll Stop by On My 
Way Home,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Only One Rose Will Do” rendered by sol
soloist/pianist John Lang. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by 
by John Lang, pianist. The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Jimmy Corbitt, James Corbitt, Edward Ma
Mathews, Bo Fender, Bing Hamilton, Julian Haskins.
 Honorary pallbearers were Ellie Morris, Lonnie Spikes, Pal Bennett, Hinky M
Mathis.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
