The Ashland Progress September 20, 1928
The municipal election held in Ashland Monday was a quiet and orderly affair.
While there was much interest apparent in the contest for councilmen, it was a
good-humored scrap and, so far as has come to our notice, no bitterness was
engendered.

Mayor C. M. Pruet was elected for a second term without opposition.

Messers R. L. Carpenter and M. L. Allen, members of the present council, were
also re-elected.

The new members elected are Dr. D. B. Cardwell, O. A. Riley, and W. A. Kerley.

Now, altogether for an economic, progressive and in every way, a successful
administration of the town's affairs.
