                            Injures Others

A storm that struck the home of Tom Robertson, near Cragford in Clay County, Monday
morning a few minutes after midnight, brought death to Henry Garrett, 41, and serious
injuries to several others. The house and six out-buildings on the place were destroyed.
No damage was done to the other houses in the community. Funeral service and burial
were conducted at the New Harmony church and cemetery Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Garrett is not thought to be seriously injured and was the only one able to go for
help after the storm struck. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Robertson, were
dangerously injured. Mrs. Robertson is reported to have developed pneumonia. Their
son, Tom Robertson, was still unconscious last night. His wife was badly injured, and
their baby suffered a broken arm.

Red Cross representatives reached the scene of the disaster Tuesday and promptly began
to aid in relief measures. They had Mrs. George Robertson and her son, Tom, brought to
a Roanoke hospital today. Mr. and Mrs. George Robertson are the parents of Mrs.
Garfield Heard, of Roanoke, and Henry Garrett was her brother-in-law and a former
resident of Roanoke.
