A.L. CRUMPTON Elected in Clay County

Stocky, jovial, A.L. Crumpton of Ashland is Clay county's new representative 
in the lower house of the legislature. A vigorous, hard-hitting fighter, Mr. 
Crumpton whose office is in the Scarbrough building in Ashland, is rated one 
of the best lawyers in central Alabama. Not long after he received his law 
degree from the University of Alabama, Crumpton volunteered and served with 
distinction in the A.E.F.

BIOGRAPHICAL

Mr. Crumpton was born November 17, 1890 on a farm in Cleburne county where 
his family has resided for more than 75 years. His first wife was Miss 
Bernice Fordham. From this union two girls were born, Mary Leland and 
Evelyn. After the death of his wife he married Miss Lois Bonner of 
Lineville. He has served one term as Mayor of Ashland and one term (1927 - 
31) as a member of the State democratic executive committee. He was a 
delegate to the democratic national convention in Chicago in 1932. He is 
Methodist, a Mason and member of the Eastern Star. The Montgomery Advertiser
