CHARLES A. LELAND was born in Sharon, Noble County, in 1860. He is the son of B.M.
Leland, a prominent citizen of this county. He received a common-school education, red law in
the office of Dalzell & McGinnis, and was admitted to the bar in 1881. Mr. Leland has been a
teacher since he was sixteen years old, and is at present (January, 1887) the teacher of the
Caldwell grammar school.
