Henry Hunter, a native of Ireland, was an early settler on the famr now owned
by Miles B. Hunter. Five of his children are yet living: Samuel, Nancy,
Margaret, William and Ebenezer. The family came to the township about 1814.
Samuel Hunter was born in Butler County, Pa., in 1806, and has resided in the
township since the family located here. He married Eliza Chapman and is the
father of eight children, seven of whom are living.
