She began this life December 31, 1885. She had been a consecrated Christian since she was a child, having united with the Methodist church quite young. On January 27, 1907, she was happily married to Tilman McKinney. Three sons were born to them, Marvin, Homer and Zachry. Her husband preceded her to the grave by five years. It was only a few days Mrs. McKinney lay on her bed of suffering waiting for the angel, when it was said, well done thy good and faithful servant. She was loved by all who knew her. And hers was a life of unselfishness and good deeds. No sacrifice was too great to make for all her family and friends, always thinking of some pleasure to others. Dear children, I know your hearts are full of sorrow for many days to come, when the way seems dark and lonely you will long for the touch of mother's hand and the sound of mother's voice. But she has passed the twilight purple hills and now sleeps quietly beneath the sod in Five Points Cemetery. Farewell, dear Maggie, but not forever, for after a while we will join you over there.
