One Hundred and Two Year Old Slave Dies
"Uncle Nathan" McCoy, well known and respected Chambers County ex-slave, died at his home 
on the Lafayette-West Point highway on Monday morning of this week and was buried at Bell's Chapel 
near Cusseta onThursday afternoon.
"Uncle Nathan" was owned by the well known McCoy family of this county during the day of slavery, 
and was one of the most faithful of his race. The last time he sold he brought $350.00. During 
his last years he owned a farm near Lafayette on the Lanett highway.
