Death of Willard Lamb in Fairfax Saddens Community

  Friends and relatives in Fairfax and surrounding communities were saddened 
last week by the untimely death of Mr. Willard Lamb, which occurred at the home 
of his parents Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Lamb early Tuesday morning

  Mr.  Lamb had been employed in Atlanta until a few months ago when illness 
compelled him to come home for treatment.  His condition was pronounced much 
improved, and he returned to Atlanta but was unable to work except for a short 
while.  He was brought home again and there remained until his death.

  Willard, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lamb, was born December 31, 1909, at 
Glass, Alabama.  He joined the Methodist church at an early age.  Most of his 
early life was spent at his birthplace.  Later he went to Talladega and Atlanta 
where he was employed for a number of years.  The many beautiful flowers tht 
graced the bier were evidence of the scores of friends the young man possessed.

  Funeral services were held at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon 
at three o'clock.  Interment was in the Bethlehem cemetery.  Rev. Wislon, 
pastor of the Fairfax Methodist Church officiated assisted by Rev.  McLeod of 
the Baptist church.

  The following young men acted as pallbearers:  Hugh Yarbrough, A. B. 
Yarbrough, Jr., Max Lamb, Jr., George Scales, William Bradfield, Gene Workman.  
Cousins of the deceased acted as flower girls.

  Young Mr.  Lamb is survived by his parents, four sisters, and three b 
rothers, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Bradfield, and a number of aunts 
and uncles.

  The out of town friends and relatives at the funeral include:  Mr. and Mrs. 
C. P. Lewis and daughters, Doris and Faye, Mrs.  J. T. Yarbrough and family, 
Mrs.  Wa. A. Turner and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Love and Thoron Love, Miss 
Marvel Leak, Mrs. J. M. Hall and daugher and Tom Morgan all of Atlanta; Mrs. 
Gordon Lamb, J. W. Lamb and son, of Newnan; Mrs. Ben Swanson and Miss Mary 
swanson, Miss Mary Cox, LaGrange; mrs.  Leo Polson, Birmingham; rev.  O. K. 
Lamb, Tuscaloosa; Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Sweat, Et hlyn Houston, Kassie Mayer, 
Talladega; Mr. Jim Branfield, Columbus.
