The Chattahoochee Valley Times March 16, 1916
Death of Mrs.
   J. Thos. Heflin

LaFayette Sun.
The death of Mrs. J. Thos. Heflin brought great sorrow to our community.
She died at 7:30 o'clock on Wednesday evening, March 8th. Her illness
developed alarming symptoms only a short time befoe the end, and Hon. J. Thos.
Heflin was called from Washington, reaching his home on Thursday morning to
find that the beloves wife had passed away. At 2 oclock, Friday afternoon a
long line of automobiles followed the remains from the late residence of the
deceased to the Methodist church of which she had been for many years a devoted
and consecrated member. The pall-bearers were Messrs. C. S. Mooon, G. E.
Collins, J. W. Danielly, R. P. Burton, J. M. Tucker, M. W. Allen, J. A. Hines,
M. R. Bucklaew, and T. D. Samford. The services were conducted by the pastor
Rev. J. M. McCleakey.
Mrs. Heflin, befoe her marriage, was Miss Minnie Kate Schuessler, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Zach Schuessler. She was born and reared in LaFayette and was
loved by everybody. As wife, mother daughter, sister, friends and neighbor,
she failed not to prove herself to be of the highest type of Christian woman-
hood. She will be sadly missed in all these relations of life.
A number of Lanett people were in attendance.
