"REV. S. L. HEATH DIES IN LANETT TUESDAY

Rev. S. L. Heath, who was reared in Rockford and who made for
himself a name among his brethren in the ministry of the Baptist
Church, passed away after an illness of several months in Lanett on
     Tuesday, January 30.

Mr. Heath was a graduate from Howard College and from the Southern
Baptist Seminary at Lousville. He had served numerous churches over
the state and was a member of the executive board of his church at
the time of his death. He had also served as President of the
     Alabama Baptist
     Sunday School Association.

He had made for himself a name as a builder of churches. He
recently went through a building camp at the Lanett Church. Funeral
services were held from the Lanett Church Wednesday afternoon, Jan.
     31. Rev. and Mrs. Colley, of Goodwater, and probably relatives of
the deceased from the county attended the funeral." (1)
