MRS. J. R. CUMBEE DIES
----------------------------
Mrs. J. R. CUMBEE died at her home near Stroud last Thursday morning [15
April 1915] and was buried at Bethel Friday morning in the presence of a very
large gathering of sorrowing friends and relatives, the services being
conducted by Dr. W. C. BLEDSOE. Mrs. CUMBEE’s illness extended over a period of
two years, during which time every possible effort was made to save her from
the dread enemy, tuberculosis. But she was ready to depart and her death was a
triumph of christian [sic] faith. The deceased was a sister of Mrs. W. Z. EAST,
of this place [Roanoke].
