Ardis was born Ardis Bessie McConnel on Sept. 11, 1918, on the family ranch

Gerald A. Snyder. They had one daughter. Jerry died from World War II-related

Migrant Educator of the Year.

Ardis was a longtime member of Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma, Soroptimist of
Boise, and P.E.O. Chapter AQ and Boone Memorial Presbyterian Church. Ardis was
dedicated to community service and a strong advocate for positive
opportunities for women's education.
