Lydia Margaret Hughes, 87, an Idaho resident since 1926, died today in her home 
at 265 Davis avenue after a brief illness.
Mrs. Hughes was born Dec. 11, 1866, in Sutton, W.Va. She was married in Sutton 
Sept. 1, 1867(actual printed date) to Marshall L. Hughes. The couple 
homesteaded in 1903 near Imperial, Neb., where they lived 23 years. Mr. Hughes 
died Dec. 24, 1944.
Mrs. Hughes was a member of Fairview Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are four sons, Victor N. Hughes, Holyoke, Colo.; Grant S. Hughes, 
Coeur d'Alene; Sheridan D. Hughes, Salem, Ore.; and Hobart N. Hughes, Nampa; 
six daughters, Mrs. Mary Sheldon, Haigler, Neb.; Mrs. Bertie Bates, Boise; Mrs. 
Elsie Sheldon, Strathmore, Calif.; Mrs. Oliver Older, Nampa; Mrs. Rutia 
Traxler, Meridian, and Mrs. Ocie Bromagem, Nampa; a brother, Oscar O. Hall, 
Tioga, W.Va.; a sister, Mrs. Della Tinney, Akron, Ohio, 23 grandchildren and 20 
great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Alsip Chapel, Rev. Raymond 
C. Kratzer will officiate, assisted by Rev. R.L. Hobza. Burial will be in 
Kohlerlawn cemetery.
