Services for Clifford Cates, 58, of Caldwell, who died Friday, July 4, on a 
Boise hospital of Cancer, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, at the Dakan 
Funeral chapel, Caldwell.
Pastor earl Shaffer of the Oregon Trail Church of God, Caldwell, will 
officiate. Burial will follow in Canyon Hill cemetery, Caldwell.
Mr. Cates, a truck driver for Boise Cascade, was born Jan. 15, 1928, at 
Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Homer and Anna Belle Cates. He was educated in Oklahoma 
and Oregon. Her served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1949m and was honorably 
discharged.
He married Jerri Price on May 27, 1950 at Winnemucca, Nevada. Clifford had 
driven trucks for various firms and was employed by Boise Cascade from 1965 
until the time of his illness in 1985.
He was a member of the Caldwell Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; three daughters, Connie Griffitts, Jan 
Medina and Joan Rapacon, all of Caldwell; four brothers, Don and Bill Cates, 
both of Boise, Larry Cates of Imbler, Oregon and Dick Cates of Elgin, Oregon; a 
sister LaWanda Bruttia of Boise; 12 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and 
nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Troy and Homer Jr. 
Friends may call today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Dakan Chapel, Caldwell.
