Raymond Arthur Chambers, or "Duke" as he was known to his friends and family, 
passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at his home in Brandon, Fla. He had been a 
resident of Brandon since relocating from Ohio in 1973. 

Duke was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Piqua. 

Recently, on Jan. 13, he celebrated his 80th birthday. He is survived by Ruth, 
his loving wife of 54 years; sons, Dennis of Brandon, Fla., and Randy of 
Seffner, Fla.; daughters, Linda Bodey of Miamisburg, Kim Pleggenkuhle of 
Hawkeye, Iowa, Dr. Michelle Duncan of Oviedo, Fla., Patricia Moore of Las 
Vegas, Nev., and Josephine Chambers of Minneapolis, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 
and six great-grandchildren. 

Duke was preceded in death by his sister, Frieda Yang of Troy.

Duke was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. He 
also was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and past Commander 
of the Piqua Post. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War ll and the 
Korean War. 

A viewing for Mr. Chambers was Feb. 5, 2007, at the Chapel of Hillsboro 
Memorial Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral services were at the Church of Jesus 
Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brandon.

On Feb. 6, family and friends of the deceased gathered at Hillsboro Memorial 
Gardens Funeral Home in Brandon for Entombment with military honors. The 
United States flag was presented to his wife, Ruth Chambers, by a 
representative of the U.S. Navy and Army Sgt. Steve Hannesson, husband of 
Duke's granddaughter, Ember Hannesson of Canton, Ga. Afterward, the family 
gathered at the Mausoleum for the entombment of Raymond Arthur Chambers.
