PIQUA - Robert "Bob" Lee Birman, 78, of Piqua, passed away at 4:30 p.m. 
Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, surrounded by 
his family and best friend.
He was born Feb. 9,1933, in Piqua, a son of the late Lewis and Mildred (Woods) 
Birman.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Janice K. Brelsford, whom 
he married April 18, 1959.
He also is survived by three daughters, Debra Jackson of Tipp City, Diane 
(Mark) Brunn of Bell brook and Denise (Brian) Montgomery of Springboro. Bob 
was a loving grandfather to four grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren, 
Brandon and Brooke Klopsch, Elizabeth and Ashton Montgomery and Kristin and 
Erin Brunn.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Richard Birman, preceded him in death. 
Bob was a 1951 graduate of Piqua High School and he attended Defiance College. 
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reform Church, Piqua, a former 
employee of the Piqua Daily Call, and he retired in 1998 from Hammer Graphics. 
He officiated high school football and basketball for many years.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he volunteered at Upper 
Valley Medical Center and Piqua City Schools.
A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the St. Paul's 
Evangelical and Reform Church, 500 N. Downing St., Piqua, with the Rev. Dr. 
Keith Gebhart presiding.
Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery with graveside military services by 
the Veteran's Elite Tribute Squad of Piqua.
