Medina County Gazette, December 3, 1880, p. 3
Mrs. Hannah Shaw, of Medina, quietly passed away to her final home, on Friday,
at 4 o'clock, Nov. 26th, 1880, aged 80 years and 5 days.
She had been in declining health for the last fifteen years; but some
six or eight years ago received an injury in the side from which she never
fully recovered, and from the effects of which she, finally died. Her last and
protracted illness was all the more painful and tedious because she could only
lie on one side and in one position. She suffered greatly, but patiently, and
toward the last became, through grace, very peaceful, fully resigned, and
anxious to depart and be at rest. She leaves a large family of children and
grand-children to mourn their loss, but none would recall her to her bed of
languishing and pain. "She rests from her labors and her works follow her."
