Medina County Gazette Thursday Jan 10, 1895, p. 3:

Seymour Alson Ganyard, oldest son of Seymour Ganyard, was born in Bristol,
Ontario County, New York, April 24, 1830, and died at his home in Granger,
Medina county, Ohio December 21, 1894, age 64 years, 7 months and 27 days.
He was married to Almeda Griffin August 1859. The fruits of this union were two
children the eldest a son Sherman and a daughter Louisa. This union continued
fourteen years when it was broken by death, his wife and daughter joining the
hosts of heaven within a few weeks of each other.
He was again married December 1873 to Alzina M Wolcott. The first of this union
was one son, Eldo. In December 1874 he confessed Christ and became obedient to
his claims, and has since been a faithful Christian. He was a father, a good
neighbor, and to know him was to love him. Those who have been sorely bereaved
are a faithful wife, two obedient sons and a host of relatives and friends.
After suffering twelve days, born in patience and Christian fortitude, he has
entered into rest and now enjoys peace and (can’t read) all understanding.
The funeral took place Sunday, December 23, at the Granger Disciple church of
which he was a member in good standing at the time of his death.
