FOUND DEAD
Sudden Demise of an Old Lady Resident of Canfield
DIED IN HER CHAIR
She Was Mrs. Sanzenbacher and Was
a Sister of the First Wife of
the Late D. Theobald
Canfield, Nov. 5. - This village was excited and shocked this forenoon to
learn of the very sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. John Sanzenbacher, one
of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of this place. Mrs.
Sanzenbacher, who was perhaps 70 years of age, was found dead in a chair in
her room at about 10:45 o’clock this forenoon. It is supposed that the cause
of this death was heart failure. Mr. Sanzenbacher, the bereaved husband,, is
one of the wealthiest men in the county. At one time he was rated to be worth
$100,000, but it is likely that his fortune is less than that now. He was for
years engaged in the tanning business. He owns bank stock, a couple of farms
and has village property. He was the head of the tanning concern, which was a
corporation. Mrs. Sanzenbacher, whose maiden name was Oswald, was a sister of
the first wife of the late D. Theobald, of this city. Besides her husband,
four children are left to mourn the death of a devoted, tender mother. Three
of them are David, John and Charles Sanzenbacher. Mrs. Sanzenbacher had a
large acquaintance and was very well known in Youngstown. She was an amiable
woman and a member of the German Reformed church. So far no arrangements have
been made for the funeral.

Additional Comments:
Corrections to this article: She was 66 years old when she died. Also, she had
six children and one of them was Mrs. John E. Neff (Harriett/Hattie) who is
not mentioned here. Others omitted are Mrs. Irvin Callahan (Rebecca/Beccie)
and Luther. Another discrepancy is the name of her church. She was a
Methodist church member.
