Mahoning Dispatch 11Nov 1898
Mrs. John Sanzenbacher
Mrs. John Sanzenbacher died very suddenly at her home in this place last
Saturday morning. She had been about her household duties apparently as well
as usual. An early dinner had been prepared and she had seated herself in a
chair at the front window, presumably to await the coming of her husband. When
Mr. Sanzenbacher entered the room he spoke, but receiving no response he
approached her and to his horror found that she was dead. Her death was due to
heart trouble from which she had been a sufferer. Mrs. Sanzenbacher was born
in Canfield township Nov. 25, 1832, and was therefore nearly 70 (sic 66) years
of age. Her entire life was spent in Canfield, where she was universally
beloved and respected. She was married to John Sanzenbacher Dec. 24, 1850. The
result of this union was six - Mrs. John E. Neff, Mrs. I. Callahan, Charles,
David and Luther Sanzenbacher of Canfield and John Sanzenbacher of Girard.
Funeral services, held from the family residence Monday afternoon at 2
o’clock, were conducted by Rev. J. E. Cope, pastor of the M.E. Church, of
which the deceased had long been a member. The remains were placed in the
family vault in the village cemetery.
