OTTO W. SANZENBACHER
Otto W. Sanzenbacher, 57, veteran Warren automobile dealer and civic leader, 
died of a heart attack Friday at his home near Leavittsburg. He retired from 
active business last year because of a heart ailment.
Born in Canfield township, Nov. 21, 1895, he was a son of David and Sarah 
Corll Sanzenbacher. During World War I, he served with the Army’s 37th 
Division in France, and soon after his return home he became Canfield Dodge 
dealer. In 1922 he disposed of his interests in Canfield and went to Warren, 
where he organized the Sanzenbacher Motor Co., now headed by two of his sons.
Mr. Sanzenbacher was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran church, taking an active 
part in its affairs. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Al Koran Shrine, 
The American Legion, Warren Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and Buckeye 
Club. Until his health failed, Mr. Sanzenbacher headed the board of trustees 
of Trumbull Memorial hospital. He was also a director of the Union Savings & 
Trust Company.
Surviving are his wife, the former Grace Saylor of Youngstown, whom he married 
in 1920, and three sons, Glen and Dale at home, and Lee, with the Air Force at 
Vienna.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Walter P. Schmidt, were held Monday 
afternoon at Emmanuel Lutheran church, and interment made in Forest Lawn 
cemetery, Boardman.
