Charles E. Noll, 79, Dead
Charles Edward Noll, 79, died last Friday evening at his home on South Broad 
street, following a protracted illness. Deceased was born in Brownsville, Pa., 
Jan. 28, 1855, a son of the late Henry and Louise Noll. When a young man he 
learned fresco painting in Pittsburgh and as a member of the firm of Spalter & 
Noll followed that business until his retirement 12 years ago, maintaining 
business headquarters in Pittsburgh until 1922. He was married to Gemella Hill 
in 1881. She preceded him in death 11 years ago. He was an active worker in 
the Methodist church and deeply interested in the affairs of the community. 
Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. L.J. Deming, and Mrs. R.J. Neff and 
Miss Anna W. Noll, all of Canfield, two sisters, Mrs. T.C. Gilchrist, 
Youngstown and Mrs. W.L. Murdoch, East Cleveland and one brother, John Noll, 
Youngstown. Funeral services held from the home Sunday afternoon were 
conducted by Rev. G.C. Cornell, pastor of the M.E. Church. Burial was in the 
village cemetery.
