Mrs. Elizabeth May Neff Dead
Mrs. Elizabeth May Neff, wife of Ensign E. Neff, died at 11:14 a.m. Monday in 
her home on Broad street of paralysis. Mrs. Neff was born in Canfield Sept. 
21, 1872, a daughter of Lucinda Corll and the late S.S. Porter and had spent 
her lifetime in this place Since girlhood she had been a member of the 
Methodist Episcopal church, and had been actively identified with the Builders 
Aid society and Woman’s Missionary Society of that church. On June 21, 1898, 
she was united in marriage to Ensign Neff who survives with her mother, Mrs. 
Lucinda Porter. Mrs. Neff was a member of Parkview Rebecca lodge of the 
I.O.O.F. She was a woman highly regarded in this community. Funeral services 
were held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the residence with Dr. J.M. Kendig and Rev. 
R.S. Smith officiating. Burial was made in Zion cemetery, north of Canfield.

Burial - May Porter Neff was buried on 5 June 1919 in Row 1 Old North 
Cemetery, Canfield, Mahoning Co, OH; next to her parents Sylvanus S. and 
Lucinda nee Corll Porter and her husband Ensign E. Neff who was buried on 23 
Sep 1953.
