HARRY E. EDWARDS
(special to the Vindicator)

Warren, May 6, -- Harry Edmond Edwards, 85, of R. D. 2, Highland Ave. Ext., and an Architectural 
Engineer, died of a heart ailment at 6 a. m. today at his home, following a week's long illness.

He was born March 12, 1870 in Mineral Ridge, a son of Edward and Ellen Elizabeht Sidell Edwards.
A lifelong resident of the district, he was a graduate from Mineral Ridge High School and Canfield 
Normal School, and later studied architectural engineering with Arthur Young of Youngstown. As a
contractor, he had built the Mahoning Valley Steel Co., the old Thomas Mill in Niles and the Western 
Reserve Mill in Warren.

He also had built many of the finer homes in Niles and helped construct the McKinley Memorial.

He leaves his wife, the former Suzie Alice Gillingham, with whom he would have celebrated his 64th 
wedding anniversary this month; a daughter, Mrs, Harry Gifford of Niles, a grandchild and two great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Monday in the Holeton funeral Home, Niles, where friends may call
tomorrow and Sunday.
