Pvt. Joseph Chise, 24, was killed in action in France on June 28th, the War 
Department has notified his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Chise., Newton street. 
Pvt. Chise, an infantryman, was inducted into the army in June, 1942, and 
after receiving training in several camps in this country was sent to England. 
Pvt. Chise was born in Canfield Oct.12, 1919, and after completing one year in 
high school was employed as a truck driver in West Virginia and in Youngstown, 
until his induction. Surviving are his parents, five sisters, Rosie and Vera 
at home, Mrs. Anna Knapern, Mrs. Helen Bosak and Pauline Chise of Cleveland, 
and one brother, George Chise, who recently received a medical discharge from 
the army.
