9 Nov. 1838.  "Ohio News" of Hillsboro, Ohio.
David Smalley died on Oct. 21, 1838 of Madison Township in 83 year of his age.  
Mr. Smalley was a revoutionary soldier and an honest and much respected citizen.

Additional Comments:
This obituary is also recapped on page 3 of the 31 July 1976 Chillicothe, 
Ohio "Gazette."  This issue says that David Smalley also resided in Ross 
County, Ohio.
