	FATHER:  John W. Newland.
	MOTHER:  Kathy (Everhart) Newland.
	SISTER(S):  Joei Lynn Newland.  
	FUNERAL HOME:  Murray Funeral Home of Greenfield, Ohio.
	BURIAL LOCATION:  South Salem Cemetery in South Salem, Ohio.  
	OTHER INFORMATION: He was a senior at McClain High School.  He was 
active in the Annual Staff, Agri-business, and FFA programs.  He played 
Freshman and Reserve basketball.  Also survived by paternal grandmother Betty 
Ely, maternal grandmother Kathleen Everhart, and maternal grandparents Orville 
and Virginia Everhart. 
	OCCUPATION: Employed at Greenfield Paint and Glass.

Additional Comments:
        John was killed in an auto accident.  A front page article in the same 
3 Feb. 1993 GREENFIELD DAILY TIMES says that he and a friend, Charles Michael 
Wise, also age 17, were traveling south on Rapid Forge Road when their 1989 
Chevy S-10 pickup truck went off the right side of the road on a lefthand 
curve, hit an embankment and a utility pole, and overturned.  The two boys 
were thrown from the pickup, and both were killed. There is a picture of the 
two boys in this article.
