                               EDWARD B. HAMILTON.
            Edward Bliss Hamilton, 69, of Greenfield, died Friday, June 13, 
1997, 4:13 p.m., at the Greenfield Area Medical Center.
            Born June 24, 1927, in Highland County, he was the son of George 
Edward Hamilton and Myrtle Marie (Carman) Hamilton.
            A graduate of McClain High School, Mr. Hamilton was a Greenfield 
Eagles member, former chairman of the Greene Countrie Towne Festival, former 
track coach, Greenfield Firefighters Association member, and had received the 
Y-Gradale Service Award.
           He was a member of the Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy, 
U.S. Coast Guard, and served in the Korean Conflict.  For 30 years, he worked 
as a meat cutter for the Kroger Company.
          He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Cox) Hamilton, whom he 
married October 28, 1950; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve E. Hamilton 
of Greenfield, George F. and Mary Hamilton of Michigan, and Frederick D. 
Hamilton of West Virginia; three daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria Ann 
Hamilton of Greenfield, Sandra S. and Ed Figueroa of Florida, and Teresa L. 
and Steve Wisecup of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Shawn Hamilton, Rachel 
and Andy Staats, Charity Chaney, Zachary and Christina Hamilton, and Emily 
Figueroa; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Maxine Smith of 
Greenfield; four half-brothers, Ray Storts of Chillicothe, Walter Storts of 
Frankfort, Mike Beechler of Michigan, and Jim Beechler of California; eight 
half-sisters, Phyllis DeLany of Dayton, Rita Beechler of Indiana, Carolyn 
Clark of South Carolina, Katherine Strain of New Market, Jane Ralph of 
Greenfield, Dorothy Hamilton of Leesburg, Eileen Mullikin of South Salem, and 
Virginia Adams of Leesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
          Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 10 a.m., at the 
First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield with the Rev. John Quist officiating.  
Burial will be in the Greenfield Cemetery.
         Friends may call Tuesday after 4 p.m. at the Murray Funeral Home in 
Greenfield.  The Eagles service will be Tuesday, 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
         In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ed 
Hamilton Memorial Track Fund, c/o McClain High School, 200 North Fifth St., 
Greenfield, OH 45123.
