                           FEHRING.
            Edward A. Fehring, 70, of 248 Woodland Dr., Hillsboro, died 
Friday, May 13, 1988 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati.
           Born March 20, 1917 in Cincinnati, he was the son of Edward A. and 
Lorna Lillis Fehring.
           Mr. Fehring was a safety consultant for the State of Ohio 
Industrial Commission.
           He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hillsboro, former 
parish council member and a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society in St. Martin 
Deanery.
           He was a former Hillsboro city council member and belonged to the 
American Legion and Knights of Columbus.
           Mr. Fehring was a former Hillsboro Elks Club trustee and was 
treasurer of the Hillsboro High School Athletic Boosters and was founder and 
first president of the Hillsboro Jaycees.
           He was a World War II veteran and played pro football with the 
original Cincinnati Bengals.
           Mr. Fehring was a graduate of St. Xavier High School, Cincinnati 
and attended the University of Arizona and University of Cincinnati.
           He played baseball and football in high school, college and semi 
professionally.
           He is survived by his wife, Norma, three sons, Edward A. (Gip) 
Fehring and Chris Fehring, both of Cincinnati, and Marc Fehring of Modesto, 
Calif.; two daughters, Deborah Robbins of West  Bloomfield, Mich. and Ann 
Wilburn of Cincinnati; this mother, Lorna Trapp, of Cincinnati; a brother, 
Patrick J. Fehring of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren and several nieces and 
nephews.
          He was preceded in death by a daughter Kim.
          Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. 
Mary's Catholic Church, Hillsboro, with the Rev. Stanley Leuhrmann 
officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery.
         Friends may call at the Turner and Son Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. 
Monday.  Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. Elks services will be held at 8 p.m.
         Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Building Growth 
Fund.
