The light of the home is darkened
The voice of a loved one is stilled
A place in our home is vacant
That only our master can fill.

Joseph Dehass son of John & Eliza
Dehass was born near East Danville
Ohio. December 29th 1853. Departed this
life at the home of his son John
Dehass near Buford Ohio. December
31st 1933 aged 80 yrs and 2 days
Where all that loving hands could do
was done to alleviate his suffering.

But we are born to die So
God spoke to him and the weary spirit
took its flight.

He was united in marriage to Sarah
Anne Pence July 1880. Together they
traveled lifes pathway, sharing each others
toils and cares.  Joys and sorrows, until
God called her home July 12th 1922.

Several years after their marriage they
united with the Christian Church
Father is gone but not forgotten
not only will He be missed by his
children, but by a host of relatives
and Friends.

He leaves three sons John of Buford
Ohio Thomas of Hillsboro O and Robert
of Needful O. Sixteen grandchildren
and 9 great grandchildren and one
Brother Dock Dehass of East Danville O
One Sister Mrs Ella Wiggins of Lynchburg
O to mourn his departure.

Tis hard to break the slender cord
Of love that binds the hearts;
Tis Harder still to speak the word
Father, we must forever part.

Dearest Father we have placed thee
In thy peaceful grave's embrace
But thy memory will be cherished
Till in Heaven we see Thy Face

NOTE:
He died at Buford, which is in Highland Co., OH

Robert, his son lived at Needful.
Needful OH is close to Buford.  It is on the
Highland County map, but there are no signs
at the location to identify it.
