FRANKS FUNERAL MONDAY
Civil War Veteran, Retired Real Estate Dealer, Succumbs at Age of  81.
Owen Franks, aged 81, retired real estate dealer, Civil war veteran and a past
commander of Wells Post, G. A. R., succumbed at his late residence, 2384
Indianola avenue, Friday evening. His death is attributed to senility.
Mr. Franks had been a resident of Columbus 41 years, coming here from Muskingum
county.  He had been engaged in the real estate business 12 years, from which he
retired 10 years ago.  During his service in the Civil war he was a member of
Battery H, First West Virginia Light Artillery.
Mr. Franks was a member of West Broad Street Presbyterian church 30 years and
one of the former pastors there Rev. W. E. Perkins, will officiate at his
funeral, which is to be held at the home Monday. The interment, in charge of
Denton & Donaldson, will be in Green Lawn cemetery. 
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth E. Franks, he leaves two daughters. Mrs.
Giles M. Brattain, Anthrop, Ohio, and Mrs. William E. Jones, Columbus, and a
son, Walker L. Franks, Logan, Ohio; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren
and a brother, Theodore Franks, St. Paul, Minn.
