DIED- 
Alvina Green was born in Franklin County, Ohio, October 16, 1842 and died in a 
hospital in Chicago, whither she had gone September 9, for a surgical 
operation on October 2, 1902, aged 59 years, 11 months and 16 days. She came 
to Iowa in the fall of 1848 with her parents, Elijah and Diana Green, who 
located near Iron Hill, where she grew to womanhood. In the spring of 1872 she 
was married to M. A. Anderson in Burlington, Iowa. They resided sometime in 
Burlington then lived a while in Phillips County, Kansa, also in Jones County 
and finally located in Maquoketa in 1887 and resided in their home in the 
Third Ward until their decease, the husband dying December 29, 1895 and the 
widow as above stated. There survive to mourn the loss of an affectionate 
sister, five sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held at her late 
home on Sunday, October 5, at 1 p.m. and burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Rev. D. 
F. Boomershine, officiating.
