Vinton County Ohio Newspaper  McArthur Democrat Enquirer  Jan 22, 1930 and January 29, 1930.
John Allman of Prattsville, aged 75 yr. 11 mo. and 20 days was a resident of 
Madison township, Vinton County, Ohio died at the age of 76. He died at the 
home of his daughter Mrs Martha Weist in Columbus,Ohio. He had been a timber 
cutter and railroad tie maker by trade. 
He was survived by wife Mrs Eliza Ann (Caldwell) Allman, 3 sons Nathan. 
Elmer,and Roy as well as 2 daughters Martha Weist,and Addie Kennard. 
he was also survived by a brother William Allman and a sister Catherine Allman 
McCarty.
He was preceded in death by 3 sons  Pearl who died in a motorcycle accident 
and a 16 year old son named John and a 16 month old named Sherman.
He was buried in Prattsville Cemetery, Prattsville, Ohio. The service was held 
at his son Roy's home. The pall bearers for John were his sons Roy, Elmer, his 
son in laws Joseph and Zelman and his newphews Sylvester Taylor and Fremont 
Gates.
 

Additional Comments:
John Allman was the son of George and Elenore (Allman) Allman.  Eliza Ann his 
wife was sometimes called Lyde. 
The daughters' husband's names were  Martha's husband's  was Joseph Weist and 
Addie's husband's name was Zelman Kennard.
