East Liverpool Crisis 28 Jun 1897 pg 5
Brief mention was made in Saturday’s Crisis of the death of Philip McIntosh, an
aged resident of the “Scotch settlement,” which occurred at the home of his son-
in-law, J.C. McCready, Pittsburgh. He had gone about three months since to
visit his son and daughter in the city. The infirmities of age growing upon
him, he having completed his 85th year on the 16th of the present month, he
breathed his last on Friday morning, the 25th. He was born and made his home
during his life time on the farm in Yellow Creek township upon which his
father, William McIntosh, had settled about 100 years ago. He was an almost
life long member of the Yellow Creek Presbyterian church. His wife died about
three years since, and his is survived by four children – namely, Dr. D.S.
McIntosh and Mrs. J. C. McCready, of Pittsburgh; John S, McIntosh, of Kansas
City, and Mrs. George Davidson, of the “Settlement,” all of whom were present
at the funeral, which occurred Sunday at Yellow Creek church. The remains were
buried in the Yellow Creek church yard.
