On Feb. 17th, 1875, Solomon Frederick, of Consumption; aged 59 years, 8 months 
and 16 days.  Mr. Frederick has spent his entire life in this county. He was 
born near New Lisbon in the year 1815. Soon after his father removed to what is 
now known as Fredericktown. He early engaged in the milling business, which he 
followed with but slight interruption up to the year 1867, when he retired from 
the mill to engage in mercantile business. In April, 1856, he removed to this 
place, and in connection with the firm of Jackman, Frederick & Co., erected the 
Aetna Flouring Mills, which he superintended for eleven years.
  In 1835 he married Amy Ann, a daughter of the late Elder John Jackman, by 
whom he had six children, four of them survive him. In January, 1851, his wife 
died leaving him with the care of five children. In April, '52 he married 
Sarah, daughter of Thos. Creighton, who survives him; by this marriage he had 
three children, two of whom survive him. Mr. Frederick was a good citizen and 
by his death his family lose a protector, and the community one of its leading 
members.
