East Liverpool Daily Crisis - 5 Apr 1902
Mrs. Lavina Hunter, aged 68, died early Saturday morning at her home on 
Commerce Street, near Eleventh. She had been in poor health for a year with a 
complication of ailments and was confined to her room since Thanksgiving. The 
deceased, whose maiden name was Lavina Brooks, was born in Jefferson County, 
Ohio, March 13, 1834, and on June 15, 1856, wedded Samuel Hunter, who died in 
this city six years ago. Surviving children are: Charles Hunter, Pittsburgh, 
PA; Mary Hunter, wife of James Hunter, Empire; Mrs. Adeline Diehl, Tiffin; Ira 
Hunter, Irondale; Mrs. Amelia Nancy Bertram, Thomas Hunter and Clarence Hunter, 
Wellsville. Mrs. Hunter was a life-long member of the Methodist church and the 
funeral will be conducted from the residence at 2 p.m. Monday by Rev. E.E. 
Clark, the interment being in Spring Hill cemetery
