Biloxi Herald on 17 Jan 1891
"Died, at his residence on north back bay, Sunday, January 11, 1891, Peter Seymour,
in the 27th year of his age.

The subject of the above notice was a native of Biloxi, and a young man of most
exemplary character. Gentile in his nature, he was kind and amiable to all his
neighbors and acquaintances, and was ever a welcome guest at the fireside of his
neighbors. Peace to his remains."

Additional Comments:
Peter's birth name was "Pierre". He was the son of Lazarus Seymour (1816-1902 and
his second wife, Martha Elizabeth Fayard Seymour (1836-1909).

The inscription on his tomb reads: "Farewell dear, but not forever,There will be
glorious dawn, We shall meet to part no never, On that resurrection morn, Tho thy
darling form lies sleeping, In the cold and silent tomb, There will come a glorious
waking, When the blessed Lord doest come"
